Usage

The Greek letter (mu) has several uses depending on the context:

  1. As a prefix for units of measurement. For example, the symbol is used to represent the micro prefix which is equal to in SI units.

  2. As a variable in statistics to represent the population mean of a distribution. For example, the symbol is used to represent the population mean of a distribution.

  3. Generally in math, as a variable to represent an unknown value.
